The JFBP is part of the main Freunde der Berliner Philharmoniker and was established to bring together friends, fans and followers of one of the world's most famous orchestra’s the Berliner Philharmoniker.
The goal is to provide members with a yearly programme of cultural and social activities to enjoy. Through an innovative, interactive and contemporary approach to classical music we offer exclusive events, unique guest speakers and the opportunity to network with like minded music lovers!
With a committee of active members, the JFBP is organised “by the members for the members”. Any interested member is welcome to join in the process of building the Junger Freundeskreis into a relevant contemporary platform for classical music in the 21st century. Your membership plays a vital role in supporting the Berliner Philharmoniker and maintaining the excellence & quality that the Orchestra is famous for.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the JFBP is open to all individuals interested in the fascinating world of classical music aged between 20 and 35. Members are free to determine the size of their “annual donation” provided there is a minimum payment of 50 € per year for students and 100 € per year for young professionals. This “gift” is tax deductible. Membership application can be made online - please click on the link below.

OUR EVENTS
The JFBP has developed event formats that are tailored specifically for students and young professionals who are interested in the world of classical music. Since its launch in 2007 the JFBP has hosted a variety of events and exclusive opportunities such as to see the Berliner Philharmoniker rehearse.
Events are open to all members to attend. Guests and non members are given the possibility to attend a trial event prior to signing up for a membership with the JFBP.
OUR EVENT FORMATS
Special Rehearsals: The unique opportunity to watch the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra and world famous conductors rehearse in a variety of interesting locations.
Backstage Talks: Offers a rare chance to meet with well known individuals from the world of classical music and culture in an intimate and informal environment. The emphasis of these talks are on the person, their expertise, experiences and life in the public eye.
Music in Dispute: Experts are invited to debate with members of the JFB in an informative and humorous fashion on relevant topics surrounding the world of classical music.
Music at the Movies: Highlights the role classical music, famous composers, renowned conductors have played in the visual arts and Hollywood. Following special screenings, selected guest speakers along with the members are given the chance to discuss the various roles and themes that the various films or documentaries portray!
Excursion: Based on the concept of enabling members the possibility to visit other like minded cultural institutions where classical music plays a certain role, whether through dance, art or education.
The Junger Freundeskreis der Berliner Philharmoniker also seeks to engage with similar minded organisations for future partnerships and cooperation’s and interested parties are invited to email Venetia Malim at junge.freunde@berliner-philharmoniker.de.
